Chris and Michelle's 2017 Year In Review
Hello friends and family!
We had a fun and active year. Here's some highlights.
More Animals! In January, We adopted two "barn cats" from a foster home in Willow Glen, so their names became "Willow" and "Glenda". Glenda sadly disappeared a few months later (we assume she's in a happy place) but Willow is still with us and now spends more of her time cuddling with us indoors than doing the mouse and rat hunting job she was adopted for.
Our Only VacationIn February, we ventured to the Big Island of Hawaii. Michelle had never beed there before. We spent a few days eating, drinking, soaking up the sun by the pool, and a few days adventuring. The highlight adventure was a hike on an active lava flow! Very hot, but also so cool!
Chris the Builder
When springtime came, Chris started work on his Christmas present to Michelle: A new chicken coop! This one is walk-in, has inside storage, and is designed for easy cleaning. Plus, it can bunk up to 10 hens which is now our current count. We love our eggs!
Home ImprovementBut our biggest home improvement project this year was remodeling our master bathroom! Much improved tile colors, fixtures, and a giant soaker tub for two! We didn't attempt to do this one ourselves!
Quinquagenarian!Chris hit the big "Five-Oh" birthday in July and Michelle threw him the party to top all parties! We love enjoying our backyard and pool with our friends and this party was just one of many summer weekends spent doing just that.
Family NuptialsChris's niece Hannah got married in Colorado in August. All his five siblings converged from various states, so it was a nice visit with his side of the family who we don't see too often. We also took some time to climb Pike's Peak (ahem, on a train) and hike in the Garden of the Gods.
Fitness! In September, we joined the local Morgan Hill Recreation Center, and signed up for a weight management challenge/class. That was enough to inspire a whole new lifestyle of working out regularly and eating right. We've both lost weight and have been signing up for cycling and running events with our friends. Feels great!
Modeling!Michelle's sister Tammy, her husband Wayne, and Michelle's Mom are photography nuts, so for Wayne's birthday we all "cooperated" by posing for some nice Wyett family photos. We're not sure if he should pay us for modeling or if we should pay him for the pictures! Let's just call it even.
Well, there you have our favorite parts of 2017 in pictures. Thanks for visiting and we hope all our friends and family also had an enjoyable year 2017!
